Hi, I’m Jas Chauhan, the Cousellor behind The Work of Being Counselling.
I work with adults navigating the many complexities of being human, whether that involves relationships, identity, grief, anxiety, shame, trauma, life transitions, or simply feeling uncertain about where you find yourself. I have a particular interest in working with LGBTQ+ and racialized communities, while welcoming people from all walks of life.
My approach is rooted in existential-phenomenological thinking, which is really about taking the time to understand your experience as you live it. I’m interested in how you’ve come to see yourself, relate to others, and find your way through the circumstances of your life. Rather than starting with what needs to change, we can begin by getting curious about what has shaped you, what matters to you, and what you might be carrying.
I see counselling as a space where we can think, feel, question, and make sense of things together. Not necessarily to arrive at all the answers, but to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and explore how you want to meet what comes next.
